The Rant

I know I have a lot to be thankful for. Healthy and loving kids and husband. I have my extended family healthy and happy. I have a good job and so does my husband.
BUT, and I hope the rest of you can feel me on this. I call the lender on our home loan and this is how the call goes.

Unhelpful person on other end: How can we help you today?

Me: Well you sent us an email telling us that you have some special programs and we really want to lock into a fixed rate.

Unhelpful person: Let's get some information from you first. What is your address?

Me: 0000 Cant sell your house without losing your booty lane Las Vegas, Nevada (trying to keep it G rated)

Unhelpful person: Oh Las Vegas. I'm sorry. Home prices have really dropped there.

Me: (Thought in head: No Sh-- ) Yea it is crazy how bad it is here. Lots of foreclosures, but we have been good customers and we are just looking to lock in so we can continue to make our payments. If the rates go back up it gets really tough.

Unhelpful person: Well it looks like you won't qualify because the comps in the area are too low.

Me: So we are good customers, never late on payments, we have a huge loan and you can do nothing for us?

Unhelpful person: I'm sorry but I don't see what we can do. If you missed a payment we could direct you to loss prevention (or whatever the other department of we can't help you either was)

Me: If you can't help me then why do you send emails and call that say you can?

Unhelpful person: I'm not sure but is there anything else I can do for you today.

Me: (thought it head BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP BLEEP... again trying to keep it G rated) Click

And on top of that lovely conversation I plug in info on IRS.GOV to find out that SORRY YOU MADE TOO MUCH LAST YEAR TO QUALIFY FOR A STIMULUS CHECK (thought: thanks for asking why we had so much money this year...took money out of my retirement to pay for house payments, hospital bills, etc. Your right we really didn't need or deserve to get any of our money that we paid in taxes back. Thanks for setting me straight. Whatever could I have been thinking that we would get money back to finish paying for my second c section. My bad that my babies were both breech................

But have a nice day :-)

Oh the Politics

So as a general rule I try to avoid the politicial stuff (hate the great debates with my family and friends). I have been a bit undecided with the upcoming presidential elections and...well...ok my mind may be changed. Check out this

and as someone told me "if it weren't so serious it would be hilarious."

New Giveaway

Again, love the giveaways. Maybe I'll win one of these days. They are giving something away everyday for twenty days so maybe I'll have a shot. Check out Tip Junkie for all the details.

Guilty Pleasure

So the other day I bought a Williams Sonoma Ice Cream/Sorbet maker. Thought it would be a good idea to make my own instead of spending all that money for Hagen Das. Well since having it pretty much nightly for the past two weeks I've become more afraid (yes more...I'm always afraid to do it) to weigh myself. This is the beautiful yet bad for me maker

And here is a receipe for strawberry sorbet:
2 cups of sugar
2 cups of cold water
12 oz (sometimes I do a little more) frozen strawberries
4 tbls of lemon juice

put all of ingreds in a blender. I switch between mix and puree for about three minutes (until really well blended) Then put in the machine for 30 minutes or so. Easy easy easy!!!

Happy Father's Day

My dad passed away several years ago. Following his death it was really hard to walk into Target with the big signs "Father's Day" over their greeting card section without getting teary eyed. I can now walk into Target with a feeling of happiness around this time of the year. Tanner and Taylor have been blessed with the best dad ever. From making Tanner's lunches, teaching him to say please and thank you, diaper changes even the blow outs, couch diving :-), and snuggling a crying baby to sleep... he does it all. Happy Father's Day baby. My daddy would be proud that I married a man that is as wonderful a husband and father as you are.

GENIUS???

After reading Mama's Losin It's blog where she had a reading level on her blog I had to check mine. I admit that I am a horrible writer and there is nothing creative about my style. So I was so surprised to get this ranking.

Do I need to file paperwork to change my dog's name?

This is our sweet little puppy, Jasmine. We got her after my first failed IVF cycle. When we had planned to get her we figured she would either fill the void of a negative pregnancy test or she would be the dog our son or daughter would grow up with. I had started to reseach labrador breeders in our area because while she would be a family dog she would also be Matt's hunting partner. Matt and I went out to the breeder and saw all the puppies. We sat and played with them for about an hour and thought we had picked one out and then at the very last minute chose Jasmine instead. My husband liked that she didn't seem to need a lot of attention. She played by herself and wasn't all over us although she was still very cuddly.

So Jasmine is turning three this month, which every lab owner knows, this is the end of puppydome (HAHA) Well as close to the end of being a puppy as any lab owner gets. My sister and I were having this very conversation the other day as she is calling her new chocolate lab puppy, Chewy. This is how the rest of the conversation went:
Me: Did you change your dog's name?
Sister: No but he chewed though my power cord for my computer.
Me: Ha, Ha I feel your pain. Jasmine destroyed a few hundred dollars of Vicky's Secret bras and panties. What she didn't fully eat she just chewed the sides and made unwearable. Oh yea she also ate the dresser they were stored in. That was in between her toilet paper and q tip snacks. We saved some money on dog food that year.
Sister: yea if we were going to change his name it would have to be "no, no bad dog"
Me: Yea Jasmine really doesn't respond to her given name anymore. She jumps up and responds when Matt says "What did you do?"
I don't know if they will let us change her pedigree papers to "WhatDidYouDo?"

I don't even have the time to go into all the medical things that have gone wrong with our perfect fur baby. So much for our low maintenance dog. But I would never trade her in for anything...Tanner wouldn't let me :-)
I thought I had to add a picture of "Bunny" AKA "Shut Up" (she is old and I think she has dementia or something. Maybe she just likes the echo of her voice...not really sure
